Young Leaders from Six Countries Unite in Moldova to Forge Lasting Youth Partnerships

The Republic of Moldova hosted a five-day international study visit that brought together young leaders, youth organizations, and institutions from six countries — Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus, Denmark, and Moldova. The event focused on strengthening regional and international cooperation in youth policy, reports tvn.md.

“This study visit added essential knowledge about how youth organizations operate in Moldova and other countries. I learned how they work with young people and overcome internal challenges. I also gained insight into funding opportunities, how to apply for various grants, and the rules each organization follows,” said Miriam Zhorholiani from Georgia’s Youth Association DRONI.

Organizers emphasized that international cooperation among young people is vital for building a globally united society, where exchanging ideas, values, and best practices helps develop responsible leadership and address shared generational challenges.

“I think what unites us is a common cultural context. When we speak about Moldova, Belarus, Ukraine, and other countries, staying united is essential. We share cultural roots in this region and, of course, a particular legacy of pro-Russian influence,” said Vladislav Areshchanka, a participant from Belarus.

Participants explored joint projects, experience exchanges, and international grant applications as concrete collaboration opportunities — all aimed at building a regional network for civic and democratic youth engagement.

“It was here in Moldova that these six countries, each facing challenges — some shared, some unique — came together. It was important for us to discuss them in a safe space, and at the same time, showcase our beautiful country to all our visiting partners,” said Abumani Mohammad Alkasem, president of PNTP.

The event demonstrated that through dialogue, solidarity, and initiative, young people can become a real force for change in the region and work together toward a more equitable and unified future.
