In 2025, Transnistria exported most to Romania, Italy, and Germany. Over 76% of foreign sales went to the EU

In the first half of 2025, the separatist administration in Moldova’s Transnistrian region directed 76.9% of its exports to European Union member states, according to data cited by g4media.ro. EU countries also accounted for 45.8% of all goods imported into the region, underscoring the bloc’s role as the region’s primary trading partner.

Romania, Italy, and Germany emerged as the top destinations for exports, while Ukraine, Romania, and Poland ranked as the main sources of imports.

Despite the ongoing energy and economic crisis in the Transnistrian region, the EU market—including Moldova’s neighbors, Romania and Ukraine—continues to offer reliable and stable trade partnerships. The growing share of trade with EU countries highlights the deepening economic integration between Transnistria’s business sector and European markets.
