In July 2025, the Republic of Moldova exported goods worth 347 million dollars, marking a 30.3 percent increase compared to June and a 21.8 percent rise compared to July 2024. However, overall exports for January–July 2025 fell 5.7 percent compared to the same period last year.

Export declines occurred in traditional markets such as Romania (-13.5%), Germany (-37.3%), and Ukraine (-19.8%). At the same time, exports to Turkey (+59.6%), the Czech Republic (+59.2%), and the Netherlands (+49.3%) increased substantially, helping partially offset the overall drop.

During the same period, Moldova imported goods worth 6.02 billion dollars, up 18 percent compared to last year. Romania, China, Ukraine, and Turkey supplied most of these imports, including natural gas, vehicles, electrical appliances, and pharmaceutical products.

As a result, Moldova’s trade deficit for January–July 2025 rose to 4.07 billion dollars, an increase of 34.1 percent compared to the same period in 2024. The coverage ratio of imports by exports fell to 32.3 percent, highlighting an increasingly pronounced trade imbalance.
