The new head of the EU Delegation to Moldova, Iwona Piórko, addressed citizens in central Chisinau and reaffirmed Brussels’ full support for the country’s EU accession process. Wearing a traditional ie, she called the moment “crucial in our common history.”

“I have come at a crucial moment in our common history, and the European Union stands by your side. I am here to listen to you and to build a relationship of trust. I will visit every corner and every region of the country to learn how we can better help your communities,” Piórko declared.

The diplomat pledged to travel across Moldova to strengthen ties with local communities and understand their needs. She emphasized that building trust will guide the EU’s future support.
