In the Telecentru district of Chisinau, on Miorita Street, a square now bears the same name. Authorities developed the project from scratch on a three-hectare public space that had stood abandoned and inaugurated the square in May 2022.
The municipality built pedestrian alleys, modernized public street lighting, arranged green areas, and installed an automated irrigation system at the park entrance. They also placed surveillance cameras, added urban furniture, and created a fitness area, a tennis table, a children’s playground, and a bicycle track. To improve the comfort of citizens, they built a public transportation waiting station next to the square.
Workers landscaped the green space by planting trees and shrubs and laying a lawn that refreshes and beautifies the area.

Later that year, the municipality, together with Veaceslav Jiglitchi, an honorary citizen of Chisinau, decided to install an urban sculpture in the square. The artwork depicts the shepherd from the ballad Miorița and glows from within at night.
