The passport of the Republic of Moldova ranks 48th in the updated Henley & Partners Passport Index. Moldovan passport holders can travel visa-free or with a visa on arrival to 121 countries, an improvement of one position compared to last year.
According to the Henley Passport Index, Moldova strengthened its international mobility indicators, maintaining stable access for citizens to destinations in Europe, Asia, and Latin America, IPN reports.
Over the past decade, Moldova has made steady progress. In 2013, it ranked 68th, but after the introduction of visa-free travel with the European Union in 2014, the country rose to 46th place. Since then, its position has fluctuated between 45 and 50, reflecting both the stability of its foreign policy and the gradual expansion of visa liberalization agreements.
This year, Moldova ranks between Albania (47th) and Venezuela (49th), and ahead of Russia (50th). Romania and Ukraine hold higher positions — 13th and 33rd, respectively.
