The EU Commissioner Marta Kos Congratulates Moldova’s New Government and Reaffirms Support for European Path

European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos congratulated the newly appointed Government of the Republic of Moldova, led by Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, and reiterated the European Union’s strong support for the country’s continued European integration.

“Warm congratulations to the new Government of the Republic of Moldova, led by Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu. I look forward to working together to accelerate Moldova’s reform process and bring a prosperous, secure, and democratic Moldova into the European Union,” Marta Kos wrote on the X platform.

The European official emphasized that the EU will continue to assist Moldova in implementing reforms and strengthening democratic institutions.

The new Cabinet of Ministers, headed by Alexandru Munteanu, was sworn in on Saturday, November 1, following the vote of confidence granted by the Moldovan Parliament on Friday evening. Lawmakers also approved the government program titled “EU, Peace, Development.”

The program outlines key priorities, including:

  • Completing EU accession negotiations by 2028;
  • Modernizing the economy and enhancing competitiveness;
  • Consolidating the rule of law and justice reforms;
  • Improving citizens’ living standards through better public services and sustainable development.
