Annual inflation in Moldova reached about 7% in October 2025, according to data published by the National Bureau of Statistics. The increase was mainly driven by higher service prices, which rose by 13.8% compared to October 2024, and by food products, which became 6.8% more expensive.
Monthly, average consumer prices increased by 0.6% compared to September 2025. The food sector recorded the largest price hikes — over 1%, contributing 0.4 percentage points to the monthly inflation. It was followed by services, up by 0.8%, and non-food products, up by 0.2%.
Among the most notable food price increases were:
- chicken eggs (+8%),
- vegetables (+6.8%),
- milk and dairy products (+0.8%), and
- vegetable oil (+0.7%).
At the same time, fresh fruit prices decreased by 1.1%.
In the non-food sector, the largest price increases were recorded for coal (+2.6%), clothing (+0.8%), footwear (+0.7%), and construction materials for home maintenance (+0.4%). Conversely, fuel prices continued to fall — gasoline dropped by 2.4%, liquefied gas by 2%, and diesel by 1.2%.
Service prices rose most significantly in the food services sector (+5.3%) and for cold water and sewerage services (+1.9%). However, passenger transport fares fell by 0.9%, including a 3.6% decrease in air transport.

Since the beginning of 2025, average consumer prices have grown by 5.6%. The largest increases were recorded in services (+10.5%), followed by food products (+5.7%) and non-food products (+1.9%).
