The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will summon the Russian Ambassador to Chisinau, Oleg Ozerov, on November 20th to inform him about the firm protest of the Moldovan side after a drone illegally flew over the Republic of Moldova’s airspace.
The Ministry strongly condemns the incident from the night of November 19th, when the drone entered Moldovan airspace from the direction of Lesnaia (Ukraine) toward the village of Saiti, Stefan Voda district.
The Ministry stated that such actions violate national sovereignty and create major risks for citizens’ security and regional stability. It also reiterated its call for Russia to avoid any actions that endanger Moldova’s security and to fully respect the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Border Police reported that drones violated Moldovan airspace. On the night of November 19th, 2025, a mobile patrol heard an unidentified flying object, resembling a drone, approximately 2,000 meters from the state border, along the Saiti (RM) – Lesnoe (UA) direction. The Ministry of Defense later confirmed the report and specified that the drone evaded detection because it flew at a very low altitude.
