The United States Embassy in Chisinau wished happy holidays to citizens of the Republic of Moldova in a video message posted on social media.

The US Embassy Charge d Affaires Nick Pietrowicz delivered the greeting alongside his two children. He said Christmas reminds people of the values that truly matter: family, faith, and freedom.

“Happy holidays from the US Embassy in Chisinau. The Christmas season reminds us of what truly matters: faith, family, and freedom. Our Embassy promotes these shared values to make America safer, stronger, and more prosperous, and to encourage the same principles here in the Republic of Moldova,” Pietrowicz said.

He added that the holiday season also offers a moment to reflect on important milestones for both countries.

“As we celebrate Christmas and the New Year, we also look ahead to two important anniversaries in 2026: 35 years of independence for the Republic of Moldova and the 250th anniversary of the United States of America,” he stated.

The message ended with a greeting in Romanian from the diplomat and his children: “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Moldova!”
