Energocom will submit a request to adjust the natural gas tariff immediately after the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) approves the base costs.

Alexandr Slusari, a member of Energocom’s Council, said the regulator is expected to approve the base costs tomorrow, and Energocom’s management confirmed that it will file the tariff adjustment request the following day.

On November 20, ANRE published a draft decision on the base costs for supplying natural gas under the public service obligation for the 2026 base year. According to the document, Energocom requested approval of total costs of 114.25 million lei, but ANRE approved only 73.26 million lei. This decision reduced the requested amount by 40.99 million lei, or about 36 percent.

Earlier, Alexandr Slusari said clear premises exist for reducing natural gas tariffs for consumers in the Republic of Moldova. He estimated that the new tariff could range between 14.50 and 14.80 lei per cubic meter, VAT included.

At present, the natural gas tariff for household consumers stands at 16.74 lei per cubic meter.
