The Republic of Moldova will provide Ukraine with a new batch of humanitarian assistance worth about 118.4 million lei, according to a draft government decision reviewed by state secretaries on January 30, reports bani.md.

The aid is aimed at helping Ukraine cope with the consequences of the war, particularly in civil protection, healthcare, and the restoration of damaged energy infrastructure.

The largest share—over 113 million lei—comes from state and mobilization reserves. This includes mainly civil protection equipment such as hundreds of thousands of gas masks (including for children), radiation monitoring devices, individual anti-chemical kits, and other emergency-response materials to protect civilians. The shipment also contains electrical cables and conductors needed to repair and maintain damaged power grids.

Food products and basic necessities will also be delivered from state reserves, including canned meat and fish, rice, buckwheat, liquid soap, and detergent, to support populations affected by the humanitarian crisis.

Separately, goods worth approximately 3.7 million lei will be provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs through the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations and the Medical Service. These include electric generators, emergency vehicles, medical equipment, masks, and ventilators for emergency services and medical institutions in Ukraine.

In addition, the Joint Stock Company Northern Electricity Distribution Networks will contribute electrical equipment and lighting fixtures valued at more than 1.2 million lei, intended for the restoration of energy infrastructure.

The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations will handle the reception, assembly, and transportation of the aid, while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will coordinate its official transfer to the Ukrainian side. Transportation costs, estimated at 608,000 lei, will be covered from the government’s reserve fund.
