The Republic of Moldova will receive USD 36.5 million from the United States to strengthen national security. The announcement was made by Moldova’s Ambassador to Washington, Vlad Kulminski.

According to the diplomat, Moldova is the only country in Eastern Europe and Eurasia explicitly mentioned in the National Security and Department of State Appropriations Act, a law adopted by the U.S. Congress and signed by President Donald Trump.

Vlad Kulminski emphasized that this decision reflects the high level of trust between Chișinău and Washington, as well as the maturity of bilateral cooperation in the field of security.

“Our partnership with the United States is a solid one. The White House and Congress are demonstrating a clear commitment to strengthening our capabilities and preventing risks in a difficult regional context.

For Moldova, this support confirms an essential fact: investment in peace, stability, and defense capacity is recognized and supported by our strategic partners. We will continue on this path with responsibility and a focus on the safety of our citizens,” the ambassador stated.

The funds will be used for energy security, cybersecurity, increasing resilience, and other areas related to national security.
