Six vocational and technical education institutions have each received 500,000 lei after demonstrating strong performance and solid partnerships with the business sector in dual education, the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova announced. Another five institutions received grants of EUR 25,000 each to launch new dual education programs with qualifications adapted to current labor market demands.

Under the dual education system, students attend theoretical classes at school and complete practical training within companies. They receive both a scholarship and a salary.

“Dual education creates real opportunities for young people to learn a востреб profession, gain practical experience during their studies, and secure stable employment after graduation. We want more students to choose this path and for partnerships between schools and the business sector to become the rule, not the exception. This year results clearly show that we are on the right track,” said Education and Research Minister Dan Perciun.

The institutions that received 500,000 lei each are:

  • Vocational School nr. 5 in Chisinau
  • Center of Excellence in Computer Science and Information Technologies in Chisinau
  • Vocational School din Bubuieci
  • Center of Excellence in Transportation in Chisinau
  • Vocational School din Ceadir Lunga in Gagauzia
  • Center of Excellence in Construction in Chisinau

Authorities selected the institutions through a competition in which 22 of the 45 schools implementing dual education participated. They evaluated candidates based on the number of students enrolled in dual education, admission results, the relevance of programs to the labor market, and the impact of proposed development projects.

“In the last three years, the Ministry of Education and the business sector have joined efforts. We will achieve meaningful results only if we continue to unite our forces,” said Sergiu Harea, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova.

During the event, organizers also recognized five successful partnerships between master instructors and partner companies for their consistency, the number of students trained and employed, and their contribution to the quality of vocational education.

The institutions that received EUR 25,000 each are:

  • Vocational School nr. 3 in Chisinau
  • Vocational School nr. 6 in Chisinau
  • Agroindustrial College in Riscani
  • Center of Excellence in Light Industry in Chisinau
  • Vocational School in Ciumai

The institutions may use the funds to invest in laboratories, equipment, and teacher training.
