The National Crisis Management Center reported that crashed drones have been found near the Isaccea–Vulcanesti power line, which remains disconnected following attacks on energy infrastructure in southern Ukraine. This situation restricts access for technical teams and requires demining operations to allow safe intervention.
Transmission system operators from the Republic of Moldova, Romania, and Ukraine are conducting coordinated technical checks. The exact duration of repair works will be determined after demining operations are completed.
Moldelectrica, in cooperation with operators from Romania and Ukraine, has activated alternative supply routes, including 110 kV interconnection lines. The CNMC platform serves as a central coordination point between national institutions at strategic, operational, and tactical levels, ensuring rapid information exchange and synchronized actions.
The Ministry of Energy of Moldova, as the responsible sectoral authority, will provide detailed technical information and official updates. Field teams are working to safely repair the damage and restore normal operation of the energy infrastructure.
Authorities noted that the Isaccea–Vulcanesti line remains disconnected as of the morning of March 24. Alternative solutions have been activated to maintain electricity supply, with Moldelectrica coordinating overnight with operators from Romania and Ukraine to ensure continued power delivery.
