State institutions must work together and strengthen their capacities to respond effectively in any crisis and ensure the protection of citizens, said Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu.
The official made the statements while participating in a seminar on the state’s ability to act and make decisions in crisis situations, alongside government officials, heads of institutions, and external partners, including representatives of the Embassy of the United States in Moldova and the NATO Liaison Office in Chisinau.
“We are living in a complicated period, with war at the border and increasingly diverse risks. That is why, for me, the simplest and clearest responsibility remains this one – to be prepared. To have institutions that can assume decisions, that can work together and that can continue to provide services to people, even in difficult times,” Munteanu said.
He stressed the importance of coordination between institutions, noting that no single structure can manage a crisis alone.
“For people, continuity of governance means something simple – that the state works and protects them, regardless of the situation. For this to be possible, institutions must work together, because no structure can cope with a crisis on its own. That is why we are gradually building a more resilient system, learning both from our partners and from the experiences we go through,” the prime minister added.
Under these conditions, authorities are working to improve preparedness and ensure efficient and professional crisis management.
“Last year, we created the National Crisis Management Center, and even in its first months, we went through difficult situations that we managed professionally. We continue to learn, adjust, and strengthen the capacities of our institutions. We know that we still have things to learn, and that is exactly what we are doing today. We choose to be prepared for any situations and to manage them as efficiently and professionally as possible,” Munteanu concluded.
