National Police of Moldova warned citizens about fake emails and SMS messages sent in the name of the Cybercrime Combating Center and, in some cases, the National Bank of Moldova. Police stated that state institutions did not send these messages and that fraudsters are using them in scam attempts.
Authorities urged people not to provide personal or banking information, not to share OTP codes, not to open suspicious links, and to verify information only through official sources.

At the same time, authorities asked the public to immediately report such incidents if they encounter them.
