Travel agencies in the Republic of Moldova are increasing the prices of holiday packages by up to 30%, depending on the destination and the services included, and citizens have already started noticing the changes.
While some people accept the higher prices and continue planning their vacations, others are choosing destinations closer to home or deciding to stay in the country instead of traveling abroad. Budgets vary, with some travelers prepared to spend between 500 and 600 euros per person, while others prefer spending a week in the countryside.
For families with children and people with lower incomes, tourism is becoming a luxury. At the same time, other citizens say they already consider vacations an essential part of their yearly routine and do not plan to give them up despite rising costs.
