The Mayor of Chisinau, Ion Ceban, is on a working visit to London, where he is meeting officials and representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to discuss ongoing projects in the capital.

According to Ceban, the discussions focus on infrastructure and development projects implemented in partnership with international financial institutions, including the EBRD, the European Investment Bank (EIB), and EU-funded programmes.

He said that some of the largest investments include the construction and modernisation of major roads in Chisinau, such as Mircea cel Batran Boulevard, Industrial Street, and Mesager Street, which he described as essential for the city’s expansion and modernisation.

Ceban stated that the City Hall “wrote, negotiated, and brought to Chisinau” these projects in recent years and described them as the largest development initiatives in Moldova since independence.

During the visit, he also discussed energy efficiency, waste management, water supply and sanitation systems, the rehabilitation of the Bîc River, and road infrastructure upgrades.

The mayor said that Chisinau City Hall is currently implementing more than 30 projects with European support, with a total portfolio worth around 4.5 billion lei.
