Chisinau Mayor Ion Ceban has called for the publication of the salaries and income of officials affiliated with the ruling Party of Action and Solidarity who work in the Government, ministries, Parliament, the Presidency, state agencies and state-owned enterprises.
The mayor also urged the authorities to disclose the remuneration of experts and advisers working in public institutions.
According to Ceban, a formal request will be submitted to the relevant institutions seeking detailed information on salaries, bonuses, allowances and other forms of remuneration.
“We are requesting, in writing, the transparent publication of the salaries and income of PAS-affiliated employees in the Government, ministries, agencies, supervisory boards, Parliament, the Presidency, state-owned enterprises—everywhere, without exception,” Ceban said.
The mayor argued that citizens have the right to know how public funds are being spent. He also claimed that a significant share of external financial assistance is being used to pay for consultancy services.
