Former Moldovan Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu declared income exceeding 216,000 Moldovan lei earned during his time in office in 2026, according to the asset declaration he submitted upon leaving office, IPN reports.

According to data published by the National Integrity Authority (ANI), Munteanu reported a net salary of more than 166,000 lei and over 50,000 lei in travel allowances received while serving as prime minister.

He also declared approximately $13,000 in proceeds from the sale of financial assets held through Robinhood Securities.

The asset declaration shows that Munteanu owns two agricultural plots, each measuring 0.06 hectares, acquired in 2022, as well as a 136-square-meter apartment purchased in 2023 and valued at €677,000.

He also declared ownership of a BMW 750LD, purchased in 2021, and bank accounts in Moldova, Romania, Italy, Ukraine, and the United States.

The declaration further lists financial investments in the United States, including securities held through Robinhood Securities and U.S. Treasury securities, as well as shareholdings in two companies registered in Ukraine.

Munteanu was appointed prime minister on October 31, 2025, following his nomination by the Party of Action and Solidarity after the resignation of Dorin Recean. He announced his resignation on July 3, stating that he could no longer carry out his duties in accordance with his principles and convictions.
