Military engineering units carried out 11 demining missions across the Republic of Moldova in July, safely destroying 13 explosive devices dating back to the Second World War.
The operations took place in localities across the districts of Ungheni, Ștefan Vodă, Căușeni, Strășeni, Hîncești, Anenii Noi, and Dubăsari. Military sappers responded to each location and neutralized the explosive objects under controlled safety conditions.
Safety Recommendations
The military engineering service urges citizens to follow these safety rules if they discover suspected explosive devices:
- Immediately notify the 112 emergency service or local authorities;
- Do not touch the device with your hands or any objects;
- Do not strike, move, or attempt to relocate the object;
- Do not dismantle fuses or any other components;
- Never throw explosive objects into a fire.
Authorities remind the public that unexploded ordnance from past conflicts can remain dangerous for decades and should only be handled by trained specialists.
