Tatiana Vozian, an employee of the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova (CCRM) who accused former institution head Marian Lupu of inappropriate sexual advances and was later dismissed, has been reinstated in her position following a court decision.
The announcement was made on August 4 by her lawyer, Doina Străisteanu, who also stated that the institution must pay Vozian compensation for the period of forced absence from work.
According to the lawyer, the Court of Accounts will have to cover the salary owed for the period between September 13, 2023, and the date of reinstatement, amounting to hundreds of thousands of lei from public funds.
“The Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova will have to pay hundreds of thousands of lei from public funds for the serious errors committed against the woman who publicly reported inappropriate sexual advances at the workplace,” Străisteanu wrote.
The lawyer described the court decision as a victory after a lengthy legal battle, saying she was proud to have represented Vozian in the case.
The controversy began after Tatiana Vozian publicly accused Marian Lupu of making inappropriate sexual advances. Lupu denied the allegations and said he would take legal action in response.
On September 12, 2023, Vozian announced that she had been dismissed from her position at the Court of Accounts.
