More than 2,000 service members of the National Army, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Intelligence and Security Service, the Ministry of Justice, and the State Protection and Guard Service will march in Chisinau’s Great National Assembly Square on August 27, Moldova’s Independence Day.
The event will also feature 150 war veterans in two formations, as well as flag-bearing groups of military personnel from Romania, Ukraine, Lithuania, Italy, Poland, France, the Czech Republic, the United States and other countries.
According to the Ministry of Defense, more than 100 units of military and specialized equipment will also take part in the parade. The equipment was purchased through Moldova’s national defense budget and assistance programs provided by foreign partners.
The military equipment will include infantry small arms, self-propelled artillery systems, anti-aircraft systems, equipment for monitoring and protecting Moldova’s airspace, and specialized military vehicles used by the National Army and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
General rehearsals for the parade will take place on August 21 and 25 in Great National Assembly Square from 22:00 to 00:00.
