Moldova and Luxembourg Discuss EU Enlargement and Bilateral Cooperation

Moldovan Prime Minister Vasile Tofan and his Luxembourg counterpart, Luc Frieden, discussed European Union enlargement and bilateral cooperation during a meeting between the two officials.

The talks focused on the next steps in Moldova’s EU accession negotiations, as well as opportunities to expand economic and investment ties between the two countries, the Moldovan government’s press service said.

Tofan thanked Luxembourg for its continued support for Moldova and its firm backing of the EU enlargement policy.

“EU enlargement is a strategic investment in the security and prosperity of the entire Europe. The Republic of Moldova is fully committed to advancing through reforms and concrete results and to making use of every opportunity to move forward in the accession negotiations,” Tofan said.

The two officials also discussed opportunities to expand economic and investment cooperation and agreed to maintain dialogue between Chisinau and Luxembourg.
