Chisinau City Hall is organizing a concert in central Chisinau today, August 31, to mark Romanian Language Day. The event will take place on Eugen Doga pedestrian street starting at 7:00 p.m. and will bring together well-known Moldovan artists, as well as symphonic and choral music. RLIVE will broadcast the concert live.
The program will feature the Symphonic Orchestra, conducted by Dumitru Carciumar, and the Doina Academic Choral Chapel, led by artistic director and principal conductor Ilona Stepan.
The concert lineup includes Mariana Bulicanu, Dumitru Mitu, Natalia Tanasiiciuc, Mihai Gandraman, Valeria Pronina, Veaceslav Timofti, Adriana Babin, Natalia Barbu, Catalin Josan, Tania Cergă, Nicu Tarna, Vitalie Todirascu, Dana Markitan, Cristofor Aldea-Teodorovici and Brio Sonores.
The event will also feature other prominent figures from Moldova’s cultural scene, including Nicolae Jelescu, Nicu Turcanu, Cristian Peripeliuc, Valentin Delinschi, Lilia Cazacu, Eugen Matcovschi, Mariana Bratu, Victoria Turcanu, Olesea Stavila, Mihaela Popescu, Radu Moraru, Catalina Lungu and Nicoleta Zghibarta.
According to the Chisinau municipal authorities, the celebrations will extend beyond the concert stage. Visitors will be able to discover works by traditional craftsmen, locally produced goods and a variety of traditional dishes, creating a space dedicated to Moldova’s cultural heritage and traditions.
