Several unidentified aerial objects were detected in Moldova’s airspace on the morning of September 24, prompting the temporary closure of the country’s northern airspace, the Ministry of Defense reported.
According to the Air Operations Service, an unmanned aircraft entered Moldova’s airspace at 6:14 a.m. from the direction of Chelimenți, Chernivtsi region, Ukraine, and crossed the state border toward Larga, Briceni district. At 6:16 a.m., the object left Moldovan airspace and headed back toward Chelimenți, Ukraine.
Another unidentified object was observed at 5:21 a.m. by a Moldovan Border Police patrol. It was traveling from the direction of Velikoе Kosnitsa, Vinnytsia region, Ukraine, toward Vasilcău, Soroca district, before subsequently leaving Moldovan airspace.
The Air Operations Service later reported another drone that entered Moldovan airspace at 6:58 a.m. from the direction of Kodyma, Vinnytsia region, Ukraine, heading toward Socola in the Transnistrian region of Moldova. At 7:11 a.m., the object disappeared from monitoring systems near Cunicea, Camenca district.
An additional object crossed Moldova’s airspace at 6:35 a.m., traveling from the direction of Prydnistrianske, Vinnytsia region, Ukraine, toward Volovița, Soroca district. At 6:45 a.m., residents reported seeing the object flying along the Gura Căinarului–Lunga–Băhrinești–Gura Camencii route in Florești district.
For security reasons, Moldova’s northern airspace was temporarily closed. It was reopened at 7:46 a.m.
The Air Operations Service continues to monitor Moldova’s airspace in coordination with the competent authorities and partner institutions.
