The Moldovan Presidency has published its register of protocol gifts received between July and September 2026.
A total of 14 gifts were recorded, with an estimated combined market value of 23,970 lei.
The gifts received by President Maia Sandu include decorative objects, works of art and traditional items presented by foreign officials, diplomats, and representatives of various organizations and institutions.
The most valuable item in the register is a ceremonial decorative ceramic jug accompanied by a silver-plated tray, presented by Turkish MP Kürşad Zorlu. The gift was valued at an estimated 3,790 lei.
Zorlu also presented a porcelain coffee and tea set, valued at 3,450 lei.
Another high-value gift is a porcelain figurine depicting a white lion, presented by Bavarian Minister-President Markus Söder and estimated at 3,150 lei.
Maia Sandu also received a painting entitled “Return”, depicting a crane flying over a wheat field. The watercolor was created by artist Snejana Teclia and valued at 2,500 lei.
The register also includes a natural karakul fur beret presented by local producer “Cușma,” valued at 2,000 lei, and a pashmina shawl presented by Indian President Droupadi Murmu, estimated at 1,500 lei, along with other decorative and artistic items.
All gifts listed in the register were transferred into the ownership of the Office of the President, with one exception. A wool and silk scarf presented by Norway’s ambassador was purchased back and returned to President Maia Sandu.
The Presidency publishes the gift register in accordance with legal requirements concerning integrity and the recording of protocol gifts.
