Four men from Criuleni and Dubăsari are being investigated in connection with the theft of six Range Rover vehicles in Belgium, causing estimated losses of approximately 16 million lei. As part of an investigation into the transnational criminal group, Moldovan law enforcement officers conducted searches at the homes of the four men under the coordination of Europol.

During the searches, officers seized a firearm, a BMW 7 Series car, Polish and Italian driving licences suspected of being forged, deportation documents from Germany, and several mobile phones.

According to Belgian law enforcement authorities, two of the stolen vehicles have already been recovered in Belgium.

The four suspects whose homes were searched in Moldova at Belgium’s request are between 25 and 27 years old. One of them has a previous record involving document forgery and driving under the influence of alcohol, while another was investigated by Hungarian authorities for the illegal transportation of 14 Syrian nationals.

International arrest warrants have also been issued for two of the suspects, who are evading law enforcement authorities.

The criminal investigation is ongoing, with the aim of holding those responsible accountable and recovering the remaining stolen vehicles.
