The Transnistrian conflict and air defense are Moldova’s main challenges, according to Brigitta Triebel, head of the Chisinau office of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. She believes that addressing these issues requires a joint effort.
Triebel said greater cooperation among partners is needed and expressed hope that such efforts would intensify in the coming years. She also identified the issue of Gagauzia as an important political topic.
“We have to work together. And I hope we will see even more cooperation in the coming years. (…) A very concrete and urgent priority is defense against drones. We need to secure the airspace here in the Republic of Moldova, as well as our borders. And, of course, at the political level, we need to cooperate on issues such as Transnistria and Gagauzia. We need a joint effort. We need cooperation between Moldova and all European countries, and that will make us stronger,” Brigitta Triebel said in an interview published by PISA.
The head of the foundation’s office in Moldova also expressed support for debates, international exchanges of ideas and opinions, and broad dialogue with society amid discussions on regional security.
