A drone factory is allegedly being established within the territory of Chisinau, according to the capital’s mayor, Ion Ceban.
“I call on the PAS government to come out publicly immediately and tell people whether it is true that the drone factory is located within Chisinau and that the site has already been prepared and work is underway. Instead of a Chisinau ring road, this is what the people of Chisinau have been given. Why didn’t you come out publicly during the city’s patron saint day celebrations to tell residents about this ‘gift’, instead of deceiving them with lies?” Ceban wrote.
Government spokesperson Dumitru Ciorici responded, saying that the country’s security is a priority for the Government.
“In principle, we want investments in the defence sector, but these will only be possible after the legal framework has been amended. Therefore, at present, no options for locating military-purpose factories in the Republic of Moldova are being considered,” Dumitru Ciorici said.
Realitatea.md requested a response from the ruling party, which said that one of its MPs would publish an explanatory video later in the day.
