Russia is ready to resume trilateral negotiations with the United States and Ukraine between November 10 and 20 to discuss the main issues related to ending the war. The announcement was made by Yuri Ushakov, an adviser to Russian President Vladimir Putin, following Putin’s meeting with US special envoy Steve Witkoff in St. Petersburg.

According to Ushakov, Putin told the American representative that Moscow was, in principle, ready to return to the trilateral negotiation format in the second ten days of November.

“Our president informed Witkoff that, in principle, we are ready to resume trilateral talks in the second ten days of November on the main issue,” the Kremlin leader’s adviser said.

Ushakov noted that Witkoff had reportedly welcomed this willingness and said that Russia’s decision to resume negotiations would be received with great satisfaction by US President Donald Trump.

The situation in Ukraine was the main topic of discussions in St. Petersburg. According to the Russian adviser, Putin and Witkoff continued exchanging views on ways to achieve lasting peace, following an earlier telephone conversation with Trump. During the meeting, Putin reportedly presented the American envoy with his assessment of the situation on the front line, claiming that Russian troops had complete control of the initiative. This statement reflects the position presented by the Russian side.

Ushakov also said that Witkoff had noted new approaches from Europeans and Kyiv regarding a resolution to the conflict, but considered them to contain few useful elements.

In addition to the war in Ukraine, the two discussed the possibility of implementing major economic projects between Russia and the United States. Jared Kushner, Donald Trump’s son-in-law, also participated in the discussions via videoconference and reportedly presented his assessments of the issues under consideration.

Earlier, Steve Witkoff had reportedly proposed resuming negotiations in the Russia–US–Ukraine format at the technical working-group level to address the key aspects of a possible resolution to the conflict.

It should be noted that Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reportedly announced his readiness to accept an end to the war in Ukraine. He made the statement in an interview with Fox News following his visit to Norway and discussions with US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. A Fox News journalist asked Zelenskyy whether he was ready to stop military operations at this stage if Ukraine retained 75% of its territory. The Ukrainian leader answered in the affirmative.
