A delegation from the former Parliament is participating in the autumn session of the PACE

The delegation of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova is participating in the autumn session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) from 29 September to 3 October. The meeting takes place in Strasbourg, France. It addresses current topics such as the protection of journalists in Gaza and the release of Ukrainian journalists held captive in the Russian Federation, support for the rule of law in Georgia, new threats from Russia to European democracies, the political crisis in Serbia, artificial intelligence, and migration.

MP Ion Groza leads the delegation, which also includes parliamentarians Natalia Davidovici, Andrian Cheptonar, and Vice President of the Parliament Vlad Batrîncea. These parliamentarians will also serve in the new Parliament if the Central Election Commission validates the preliminary results of the parliamentary elections held on 28 September 2025.

During the autumn session of PACE, participants will also discuss opinions regarding the draft Convention for creating an International Commission for the Settlement of Claims for Ukraine and the draft Convention of the Council of Europe on co-productions of audiovisual series. In addition, PACE will elect its new Secretary General for a five-year term.

On the margins of the session, the PACE Committee on the Honouring of Obligations and Commitments by Member States of the Council of Europe will also meet. The committee will appoint the second co-rapporteur for the Republic of Moldova and hold an exchange of views on the recent parliamentary elections in the country.
