A new support package from Brussels: the EU gives Moldova €8 million for humanitarian projects

The European Union has announced a new support package for Moldova and Ukraine, allocating €148 million. Of this amount, €8 million is designated for Moldova.

Moldova will use the funds for humanitarian projects for Ukrainian refugees and host communities. The priority areas include cash assistance and access to essential services, such as medical, psychological, social, and educational support.

The EU Commission officials stated that the funding will provide emergency assistance in Ukraine, including food, shelter, clean water, medical care, and winter protection for people affected by the war, particularly in the eastern and southern regions.

Crisis Management Commissioner Hadja Lahbib is visiting Ukraine and plans to meet with several officials, including President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The Brussels representative will also visit recipients of EU humanitarian aid.
