The Academic Choral Chapel “Doina” celebrated its 95th anniversary with a festive concert at the Palace of the Republic, gathering music enthusiasts and leading figures from Moldova’s cultural scene.
Under the direction of conductor Ilona Stepan, the ensemble delivered a powerful performance featuring guest appearances by the piano duo Anatolie Lapițus and Iurie Mahovici, and baritone Alexei Lavrov, whose recital captivated the audience with its artistry and emotional depth.
During the event, Minister of Culture Sergiu Prodan awarded the ensemble an Honorary Diploma in recognition of its invaluable contribution to Moldova’s national culture, the preservation of musical heritage, and the promotion of the country’s rich choral tradition.
For nearly a century, the Academic Choral Chapel “Doina” has stood as one of Moldova’s most respected artistic institutions. The jubilee concert not only celebrated its illustrious past but also reaffirmed its vital role in shaping and enriching the nation’s cultural identity.
