After attending the Paris Peace Forum, President Maia Sandu is expected to pay a working visit to Brussels. The head of state is scheduled to arrive in Belgium on November 4.
Victor Negrescu, Vice President of the European Parliament, announced the visit in an interview with ziua.md. According to him, Maia Sandu will travel to Brussels to thank the institutions of the European Union for their continued support for the Republic of Moldova.
“The Republic of Moldova is experiencing an extraordinary moment in terms of its international reputation. This is due to Maia Sandu, but it is not enough to have a respected leader. We are talking about laws. On November 4, she will be in Brussels to, in a way, thank the European Union for the close relationship. It is not enough to deliver a good speech, like the one in Strasbourg, if reforms are not implemented. Right now, the Republic of Moldova is at the stage of decision-making. The Government and Parliament are taking decisions, and many more people need to be involved in this process,” said Negrescu.
Following Maia Sandu’s visit to Brussels, Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, is expected to visit the Republic of Moldova. During her trip, she will inaugurate the European Parliament’s Office in Chisinau.
