Ambassador Tatiana Molcean, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Moldova to the UN Office, WTO, and other international organizations in Geneva, has been appointed Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAEI), the selection of Tatiana Molchan to this position of the UN senior leadership following the results of a competitive competition is a confirmation of her diplomatic and leadership qualities, as well as her extensive knowledge in the fields of competence of the organization. At the same time, this is a clear recognition of the professionalism, successes, and achievements of Moldovan diplomacy, and commitment at the government level to the multilateral agenda, according to the MFAEI.

The Executive Secretary of UNECE is a member of the UN Senior Management Group. The Executive Secretary is appointed by the UN Secretary-General.
