Austria Provides Moldovan Firefighters with Additional Emergency Vehicles

Twelve emergency vehicles, donated by the Austrian Volunteer Firefighters Association, will be allocated to rescue and volunteer fire stations across the Republic of Moldova. The official donation ceremony occurred on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at the Emergency Situations Directorate in Orhei.

The locations set to benefit from the emergency equipment include:

  • Pohrebeni and Ghetlova, Orhei District
  • Lalova and Mateuti, Rezina District
  • Clinceni, Soldatesti District
  • Sadaclia, Basarabeasca District

Additionally, two territorial subdivisions of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (GIES)—the Emergency Situations Department of Orhei and the Cainari Firefighters and Rescuers Unit of the Regional Emergency Situations Department of Causeni—have received the vehicles for daily use in their service missions,” states the communication from the GIES.

According to GIES, from September 3 to 5, 2024, Austrian volunteer firefighters will conduct training sessions for Moldovan firefighters in the beneficiary locations receiving the specialized equipment.
