British Officials Visit Chisinau for Talks with Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu

The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova is hosting a visit by a delegation from the Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. British parliamentarians will stay in Chisinau from May 12 to 15. The delegation includes members of the House of Commons, Anneliese Dodds, John Whittingdale, and a member of the House of Lords, Lord Randall of Uxbridge.

At Parliament, the UK officials will meet with the head of the legislature, Igor Grosu, with MPs from both the majority and opposition, and with members of the parliamentary friendship group between the two countries.

The UK delegation will also discuss with Moldova’s President Maia Sandu and officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Defense, and Internal Affairs. They will also meet with representatives from the Center for Strategic Communication and Countering Disinformation, the Central Electoral Commission, the Audiovisual Council, and the Cyber Security Agency.

During the talks, participants will address a range of current issues, including preparations for the parliamentary elections scheduled for September 28 and potential areas of cooperation to counter Russian interference in Moldova.
