Bulgaria ranks as Moldova’s sixth most important economic partner in the European Union. In 2024, trade between the two countries grew by 14.8% compared to 2023, surpassing $267 million.
“Trade with Bulgaria is growing, which means more opportunities for our companies, more Moldovan products on EU shelves, and more confidence in what we can build here at home,” said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Doina Nistor.
Moldova’s main exports to Bulgaria include sunflower seeds, rapeseed, sunflower seed oil, gas meters, petroleum oils, and wires and cables.

From Bulgaria, Moldova imports windows, wires and cables, cleaning solutions, plastic packaging, plastic wires and sticks, as well as various food products.
Among Moldova’s EU trading partners, Romania ranks first, followed by Germany, Italy, Poland, and the Czech Republic.
