Chisinau Mayor Ion Ceban met with Katja Johanna Saha, the UNHCR representative in the Republic of Moldova. During the meeting, the officials signed a new memorandum of understanding between City Hall and UNHCR, under which the two sides will continue and strengthen the cooperation developed over the years.
The new agreement gives Chisinau City Hall an opportunity to strengthen the capacity of municipal services, develop joint projects, and make use of its partners’ expertise and resources for the benefit of the community.
In recent years, Chisinau City Hall has maintained close cooperation with the United Nations and its representatives in the Republic of Moldova across various fields, the mayor noted.
“I thank UNHCR for its longstanding partnership and for the support provided to the municipality of Chisinau. I also thank all our partners who stand alongside us and contribute their expertise, commitment and resources to the development of Chisinau and to supporting its people,” Ion Ceban said.
