Chisinau City Hall is preparing to raise several local taxes in 2026, with rates adjusted to the 4.68% inflation rate, according to a draft decision submitted for public consultation, BANI.MD reports.
The municipality proposes setting the territorial development tax at 214 lei, expected to generate 51.8 million lei in revenue. The tax for organizing auctions and lotteries is set at 0.32%, with projected revenues of 18.7 million lei. For advertising placement, the proposed rate is 6.4%, which could bring in 5.6 million lei, while the tax for using local symbols will be 0.30%, expected to generate around 930,000 lei.
The accommodation tax applied to hotels and similar facilities will be 5.8%, with estimated revenues of 56 million lei in 2026. For parking spaces, the proposed tax is 40 lei per m², with projected revenues of 12.48 million lei.
The tax for advertising devices will be 996 lei per m², reflecting minor adjustments compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, the monthly tax for each taxi unit will rise to 460 lei, up by 20 lei from 2025.
In municipal markets, taxes will range from 20 to 112 lei per m², depending on the market’s profile and operating model. City Hall expects to collect 15.15 million lei from market-related taxes—an increase of 2.3 million lei compared to 2025.
Overall, the municipality anticipates that revenues from taxes, levies, and property-related payments will increase by over 600 million lei next year.
