Chisinau will host top tennis players from around the globe as they compete in the international tournament “Moldova Open Challenger 50”, held from May 25 to June 1 at Arena Chisinau. Moldovan athletes Radu Albot and Ilie Snitari will represent the host country in the tournament, which marks a historic milestone — the first ATP Challenger Tour event ever held in Moldova.
The president of the Moldovan Tennis Federation, Ceslav Ciuhrii, emphasized the tournament’s importance:
“This event places Moldova on the international tennis map and creates major opportunities for young Moldovan players to gain experience, earn valuable points, and build confidence.”
“The Moldova Open confirms that our country and federation have the strength, vision, and determination to organize high-level competitions.”

The tournament features 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams, with a total prize pool of €54,000. The singles winner will earn €8,500 and 50 ATP ranking points.
Organizers will offer free access to matches from Monday to Friday, starting at 10:00 AM. Spectators can purchase tickets for Saturday, May 31, and Sunday, June 1, when the semifinals and finals occur, beginning at 2:00 PM. Ticket prices range between 150 and 200 MDL.
In parallel, on June 1, the event will host the “Kids Day” Festival, starting at 10:00 AM, with free access for children and families. Moldova 1 will broadcast the matches live throughout the tournament.
