Chisinau is alarmed: Russian peacekeepers in Transnistria check cars of diplomatic missions for no reason

Chisinau is concerned about incidents in the Security Zone. This fact was discussed on Wednesday, April 19, during a meeting between Vice Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian and Special Representative of the OSCE Chairmanship for the Transnistrian Settlement Process Thomas Mayr-Harting, accompanied by the Head of the OSCE Mission to the Republic of Moldova, Kelly Keiderling.

Аccording to the message of the Office for Reintegration, “The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his concern about the continuing incidents in the Security Zone. These incidents were initiated by the peacekeepers of the Russian Federation and the power structures of Tiraspol. They are related to the unauthorized stop of vehicles, including those of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in the Republic of Moldova”.

During the discussions, Chisinau expressed readiness to continue a constructive dialogue in the “1 + 1” format and with the involvement of working groups to identify solutions to problems related to free movement, permanent access to agricultural land in the Dubossary region, repair of bridges across the Dniester River and rational use water resources.

At the same time, the need was emphasized for Tiraspol to abandon the tactics of excessive politicization and unacceptable conditions.
