Folk artisan Ludmila Prepelita from Vasilcau, Soroca, has woven tradition into modern life for nearly 25 years, using threads and crochet.
She creates tablecloths, lace, ornaments, martisoare (traditional spring talismans), and other works, each telling a story of passion passed down through generations.
Through her “Magic Crochet” center, Ludmila teaches young people to appreciate patience and the beauty of handmade crafts, the Ministry of Culture reports.
The Ministry promotes cultural bearers like Ludmila through the “Creators of Heritage” campaign, part of the National Program for Access to Culture, highlighting those who preserve Moldova’s cultural identity.
