Dan Perciun wants to attract 1000 more students from abroad to Moldova. India – “priority market”

The Minister of Education announced that higher education institutions want to attract more foreign students to Moldova. The announcement was made by Minister of Education Dan Perciun.

According to him, one of the priority markets will be India, and discussions have already started with the Moldovan ambassador in New Delhi, Ana Taban. Dan Perciun also mentioned that a country brand and a specific web page are being developed for foreign students who want to study in Moldova.

“We have around €1.2 million for these, and we are going to capitalize on it and achieve the goal of attracting at least 1000 additional foreign students to our country for the sustainability of the system of education,” Perciun said.

The minister also said that a survey will be conducted in the country’s universities to determine the integrity of the staff. Perciun noted that if problems are found, pressure will be put on the institutions concerned to stop certain practices.
