Deputy Speaker of Parliament Doina Gherman says that responsibility for the incident in which a drone crashed and exploded in Orhei district lies with the aggressor state, the Russian Federation.
The statements were made during a program on Radio Moldova, where the official commented on the security situation generated by the war in Ukraine.
“It does not matter where the drone came from; the only party responsible is the aggressor state – the Russian Federation,” she said.
In her remarks, Doina Gherman described the incident as a “serious” one and a direct consequence of the conflict launched by Russia against Ukraine. She stressed that security risks remain high in the region and called for vigilance from both state institutions and citizens.
The official also noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had issued a statement on the matter, reiterating its condemnation of the war and the need to maintain security in the current regional context.
