Dorin Recean: “In 2024, we have made significant progress despite all the challenges. Let us look forward to 2025 with optimism and solidarity”

Prime Minister Dorin Recean announced that the Republic of Moldova achieved significant progress in 2024 despite numerous challenges. He emphasized that the 2025 agenda will prioritize implementing the country’s development program negotiated with the European Union.

The achievements of 2024 include opening accession negotiations with the European Union, holding a republican constitutional referendum, electing the head of state, and negotiating Moldova’s Development Program.

“In 2024, despite numerous challenges—border war in Ukraine, hybrid war at home, drought, heatwaves, and other issues—we accomplished key milestones. We opened accession negotiations, held the referendum, elected a leader capable of ensuring peace and security, and began a dialogue with the EU to negotiate Moldova’s development program. These efforts will shape the agenda for 2025, regardless of the challenges ahead. I wish you all a happy New Year and encourage optimism and solidarity as we enter 2025,” Recean stated.

The cabinet of ministers convened on December 30 for their final meeting of the year.
