Prime Minister Dorin Recean announced that Moldova and the European Union have finalized an aid package agreement to address the energy crisis. Government representatives will sign the grant contract on Friday.
“The European Union is saving Moldova again. While Russia leaves people in the cold and dark, Europe provides financial and direct support to end this energy blackmail once and for all,” Recean said.
The European Commission will grant Moldova €64 million, including €30 million previously announced for energy resources.

Of this amount, €20 million will fund natural gas purchases as humanitarian aid for Transnistria, while €10 million will go toward electricity purchases for the right bank of the Dniester. The remaining €34 million will be allocated as budget support.
