DP World launches a comprehensive end-to-end logistics service and integrates Moldova into European supply chains

DP World has announced the launch of a pan-European logistics service, including a strategic multi-modal hub in Chisinau, connecting Moldova with Romania and the rest of Europe. The groupage transport service integrates all supply chain stages by combining road, sea, air, rail, and multi-modal transportation, providing a complete end-to-end solution. This initiative supports Moldovan companies by offering them better access to European markets through faster and more cost-effective logistics.

By efficiently managing the supply chain and improving operational performance, DP World focuses on meeting customer needs to reduce costs and accelerate delivery times while ensuring transparency at every stage.

The DP World network will feature a “groupage line” and customs infrastructure in Chisinau. The groupage transport system consolidates smaller shipments from different customers into a single delivery. This solution lowers costs for clients without full truckloads, enhances efficiency by maximizing cargo capacity, reduces the environmental footprint of each shipment, and supports multi-modal integration, ensuring seamless transfers between road, rail, and sea transport.

Kris Adams, Executive Vice President for Eastern Europe at DP World, stated:
“This comprehensive end-to-end service is the cornerstone of DP World’s expansion strategy in Moldova. The Chisinau groupage line will help integrate Moldova into EU supply chains, facilitating trade for Moldovan businesses—making trade in Europe faster, cheaper, and more sustainable.”

The DP World European network’s Operational Control Tower will be based in Bucharest. It will coordinate all elements of this end-to-end service, including groupage services, first/last-mile delivery, warehousing, customs brokerage, and multi-modal transport. Additionally, it will develop advanced digital platforms for real-time management, predictive analytics, and seamless communication.

The choice of Bucharest reflects Romania’s strategic geographic role and DP World’s strong position in the country. The company already operates in the Port of Constanta, serving as a gateway for shipments from Asia and providing access to the Danube. It also operates the Aiud multi-modal terminal, which enables cargo movement across Europe via road and rail.

DP World operates across six continents with a workforce of over 100,000 employees. The company combines global infrastructure with local expertise to provide integrated supply chain solutions. From ports and terminals to maritime services, logistics, and technology, DP World leverages innovation to create more efficient transportation methods, minimizing disruptions from the manufacturer to the customer’s doorstep.

In Europe, DP World employs over 25,000 people across 250+ locations in 30 countries, offering clients access to 10 deep-water terminals, 14 inland terminals, 150 warehouses, and 90 locations connected via its feeder and short-sea transport network.
